Teacher profile
Justine Williams
[email protected]I first became aware of Tai Chi at 10 years old as my father used to travel every Saturday morning to Stratford East in London to teach Tai Chi as a martial art to theatre school students. I used to be fascinated watching him.
It wasn’t until my early 20s that I took my first Tai Chi classes, wanting to be closer to my Chinese heritage and seeking a calmer practice to complement my contemporary dance and reformer pilates activities. Over the years I have often come back to the full Tai Chi form (Yang and Lee styles), but quickly forgot the sequences if I didn’t keep up my practice.
Nearly 20 years ago I qualified as a yoga teacher, and regularly teach weekly classes. I have often brought elements of Chi Kung into warm-up exercises and enjoy the flowing movement which can often complement a yoga practice.
Tai Chi Movement for Wellbeing (TMW) has brought further balance through the beautiful, mindful elements of Tai Chi and Chi Kung woven together into a shorter, heart-centred, and easier to learn practice for all to do and bring into daily life. TMW goes beyond simply being a movement exercise, and I enjoy sharing the practice with people of varying ages and physical abilities, helping to create a greater sense of calm and inner peace, whilst supporting people through gentle, flowing movements.
Please contact me for more details for 1-1 or small group classes. I am also available for corporate classes to provide time out for busy executives, and offer special classes for care homes, hospices, and people living with cognitive or physical disabilities.
I currently operate within the Daventry area on the Oxfordshire/Warwickshire and Northamptonshire borders.
